Local Sims 2 Modding Assistance

I’m looking for someone here in New Jersey who knows The Sims 2 inside out—especially SimPE—and can sit down with me (in person or via screen-share if you’re nearby) to get my game fully mod-ready.
Right now SimPE refuses to behave whenever I try modifying in-game items and tools. Packages won’t save correctly, and the objects either disappear or throw errors once I load the lot. I want to understand what I’m doing wrong, fix any corrupt resources, and make sure edited objects show up in-game without glitches. Once SimPE is running smoothly, I also need clear, step-by-step help installing custom mods so everything plays nicely together.
