2D Gacha Combat Prototype
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I’m building a small-scope prototype that re-creates the feel of Nintendo DS-era “Lost Magic” while leaning on a Johto-style pixel aesthetic. The goal is to prove out the core loop—turn-based battles and a magic-based capture system—so I can validate gameplay before expanding the roster and content.
Scope of this phase
• Turn-based combat engine for mobile (portrait orientation).
• Three ability categories per unit: basic attack moves, defensive moves, and signature special skills with simple cooldown or mana costs.
• Capture logic triggered after an enemy’s HP threshold; players draw or trace a magic rune on-screen to attempt the capture. Success chance should factor in enemy level and remaining HP.
• Lightweight UI that shows turn order, HP/SP bars, and capture prompt.
• Pixel assets will mirror Pokémon Johto resolution; placeholder sprites are fine—I’ll swap final art later.
• Exported as an Android test build plus the full Unity or Godot project (whichever you’re fastest in) so I can iterate.
Acceptance check
The APK must let me:
1. Start a mock encounter with two allied creatures and one wild foe.
2. Execute at least one move from each ability category.
3. Trigger the spell-casting capture and see success/fail feedback.
If you have a reusable combat framework or spell-drawing mechanic, mention it—speed matters.
