Casual PvP Arena Game

Job ID: 40221248

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

I’m building a light-hearted, pick-up-and-play PvP game where players fight with anything but the usual guns and knives. The core idea is simple: small teams drop into compact, purpose-built arenas and scramble for randomly spawned items—rubber chickens, enchanted brooms, exploding soccer balls—anything that feels quirky and fun. Matches should stay quick, chaotic and above all casual.

Match Formats
The game must recognise three queue options and load the correct map layout automatically:
• 1 v 1
• 2 v 2
• 3 v 3

Arena System
Each format gets its own self-contained arena. I’m open on visual style for now, so feel free to propose an art direction that suits a playful, non-violent tone. What matters most is tight level design that keeps players constantly in range of one another and funnels them toward the item drops.

Random Item Mechanic
An item spawner should feed the match with unpredictable, non-lethal gear at set intervals. Every item needs a clear, easily readable effect (knock-back, stun, mobility boost, area denial, etc.) so rounds remain accessible even to first-time players. Flexibility to expand the item pool later is essential.

Networking & Flow
• Seamless lobby → queue → arena flow with automatic team assignment.
• Low-latency peer-to-peer or dedicated-server setup (whichever you recommend for smooth, small-scale matches).
• Respawn logic or round-based elimination—let’s discuss which best supports a relaxed experience without long downtimes.

What I need from you
1. Core prototype in Unity or Unreal (your preference) that ties together matchmaking, arenas and the random-item system.
2. Clean, well-commented code and a short read-me so I can keep expanding the project after delivery.
3. A brief playtest session with me to verify balance and overall “fun factor”.

If you thrive on goofy mechanics, tight arena design and quick multiplayer loops, this should be a straightforward, enjoyable build. Let’s make something players can laugh about within the first minute of spawning.
