Candy Crush-Style English Learning Game
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
The goal is to create a match-3 mobile game for Android and iOS that teaches children English vocabulary while they play. Think classic Candy Crush mechanics stretched across 5,000 progressively harder levels, but with an educational twist: every tile carries a word, and whenever three or more identical tiles are cleared, the game flashes that word on-screen and plays a clear, friendly pronunciation. Over the full campaign the player will encounter roughly 4,000 distinct words, giving plenty of spaced repetition.
Visual direction stays cartoonish and colorful—bright candies, playful animations, gentle particle effects—so younger players stay engaged without sensory overload. Core gameplay includes the usual swipe-to-match moves, special pieces for larger combos, timed obstacles, and viral power-ups. To keep motivation high, bonus levels unlock at key milestones; these stages lean heavily on the words already learned, turning revision into a celebration.
I’d like a single code base—Unity or a comparable cross-platform engine—compiled to both an Android APK and an iOS build. Standard features such as cloud save, simple parental progress tracking, and optional rewarded ads are expected, but they should never overshadow the learning objective.
Deliverables
• Complete and well-commented project source
• Build-ready Android APK and Xcode project
• All original art, animations, and 4,000 recorded word clips with transferred rights
• Level-design spreadsheet mapping each stage to its target vocabulary
• Concise documentation so new words or levels can be added without rewriting code
Acceptance criteria include: smooth 60 FPS play on mid-range devices, clear audio playback for every word, crash-free progression through all 5,000 levels, and compliance with both App Store and Google Play publishing guidelines.
