Babylon.js Social Building Webgame

Job ID: 40313348

Budget: $30 – $250 CAD

I’m setting up a browser-based game that blends the free-camera, skill-oriented feel of old-school RuneScape with the cosy, room-decorating charm of Habbo Hotel. The heart of the project is the housing system: players should be able to buy or claim a plot, drop in a pre-built shell, and then arrange furniture with a moderate level of variation—think colour swaps, size options, a few style themes per item rather than endless sliders.

I’d like this built in Babylon.js so we stay fully WebGL-native and avoid plug-ins. A persistent multiplayer back-end (Node.js + WebSocket or Colyseus if you prefer) will handle world state, item ownership, basic skills, inventories and the day–night cycle. For social features I only need public chat in the main world and private messaging via a friends list; group events can wait for a later milestone.

Camera should default to an isometric tilt but allow mouse wheel zoom and rotation like early RuneScape. A simple minimap and click-to-move path-finding are enough for navigation at this stage.

Deliverables I can test against:
• Core Babylon.js client with login, lobby, and instanced house interiors
• Drag-and-drop furniture placement with snap points and server-side save/restore
• Public chat channel plus friend add, remove, and whisper
• Basic user data schema and REST endpoints for account, inventory, and house state

If you can get a playable prototype online, if you are looking to join the project or use your own asset you are welcome
