Steam store art for an indie party game — 4 capsules, 4 library assets, logo (exact specs provided)
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
Summary
I'm a solo developer shipping "The Floor Votes", an 8-player online party game, to
Steam this December. I need the complete set of Steam store and library graphics,
plus a game logo/wordmark.
THE GAME
Players vote on rules that permanently break the game — gravity flips, the floor
turns to lava, the walls close in — the rules stack, and the last one standing
wins. It's chaotic and comedic, not serious.
Art style is flat-shaded low poly: simple faceted geometry, no textures, eight
players in eight solid bright colours against a muted environment. Think Fall Guys
or Human Fall Flat in terms of tone, not fidelity. Please match this style — I am
not looking for painted or photorealistic key art.
WHAT I PROVIDE
- High-resolution in-engine renders of the characters and arena, on transparent
backgrounds, at whatever angles and poses you ask for
- Gameplay screenshots and footage
- The exact colour palette
- Fast turnaround on any additional renders you need
DELIVERABLES — exact pixel dimensions, these are not negotiable
Steam rejects assets at the wrong size, so every file must be exact:
Header capsule 920 x 430 JPG
Small capsule 462 x 174 PNG
Main capsule 1232 x 706 JPG
Vertical capsule 748 x 896 JPG
Library capsule 600 x 900 PNG
Library header 920 x 430 PNG
Library hero 3840 x 1240 PNG
Library logo 1280 wide or 720 tall, PNG, TRANSPARENT background
App icon 184 x 184 JPG
Plus layered source files (PSD or AI) so I can re-crop for future events.
VALVE'S RULES — please read, these get pages rejected
1. The logo must be legible at very small sizes. Steam scales the small capsule
down to 120 x 45 pixels. Valve's own guidance is that the logo should nearly
fill the small capsule. This is the single hardest constraint in the job.
2. The library hero must contain NO TEXT AT ALL, and its critical content must sit
inside a centred 860 x 380 safe area.
3. Capsules may contain only game artwork, the game name, and a subtitle. No review
scores, no award laurels, no "Coming Soon", no discount text, no platform icons.
4. Artwork must be PG-13 appropriate.
TIMELINE
First drafts of the small capsule and logo within 5 days of starting; full set
within 10 days. I have a fixed Steam festival deadline and cannot extend it.
I'd like to start with the small capsule and the logo, because they're the hardest
and everything else re-crops from the same elements.
BUDGET
Fixed price. Tell me your number for the full set, and separately what you'd charge
for just the logo/wordmark if you'd rather start there.
TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE
1. Portfolio links, ideally including Steam capsules you've made before
2. One example of your work shown at 120 x 45 pixels, so I can see it stays legible
3. Whether you use generative AI in any part of your process. Steam requires me to
declare AI-generated content on the store page, so I need an honest answer — it
is not automatically a dealbreaker, I just have to disclose it accurately.
4. Your timeline and price
Thanks for reading this far.
