PC Rougelite Game Development
Budget: $15 – $40 USD
Hi, My name is Wozoo (on discord) and I have wanted to make the "perfect game" for a long time. However, I'm currently an engineering student in college and don't really have the time to learn all of the necessary skills to make the game I want. One of the games I've played recently is path of exile, and boy have I sunk many hours into that, however, I was only really doing it for the capability to have the freedom to fully customize my builds, but the grinding to do so felt way too long for the payout. On the other hand, I love risk of rain 2 and its Rougelike aspect. My perfect game would be combining these two ideas together into one.
What I want/hope for:
- Someone who is will be willing to work with me each step of the way in terms of ideation
- Someone who is quite creative as well
- Someone who is quite confident and capable in coding with either unity or Godot (these are just the engines that I'm familiar with, PREFERABLY GODOT)
-2.5D 1st, then 2D, then 3D in terms of preferred perspectives
- able to make super basic art as placeholders for whatever dimensional perspective you work in
- able to implement multiplayer (but the Steam "join game" kind of multiplayer, I just want to be able to do a run with my friends)
Possible Problems/ Questions:
- as I said earlier, I am a college student. Though I do have a decent paying job, I can only do small payments at a time
- Following the above point, I also realize that this will in no way be a priority for you, I'm just hoping to have a couple hours per week casually spent on making this game.
- to also hopefully make up for this "lack" of payment, you will own the full rights of the game. you can publish it on steam and all the profits you make are yours, and I'm willing to sign necessary documents to make sure it's officially yours in terms of money, I may set up a thing where I get 10-15% of sales but I'm not worried about that.
- THE MAIN THING is that I want to ALWAYS be able to have an important say about the directions and ideas of the game if it does get published
- I hope that you have fun making the game, I hope this doesn't feel like a pain to make.
- as the game developer, your ideas are also important to me, I would like to treat this as a team rather than as a commission.
- I make music and am half decent at making 2D sprites/animation, so I will fill those roles
Please provide examples of previous work that aligns with this project. Your creativity and expertise will be crucial in making this game a success.
