Job Overview: We are seeking a talented pixel artist to collaborate on a 2D platformer game. The game is inspired by classic titles like Celeste and Super Meat Boy, with a unique narrative based on Dante’s Inferno. Your role will involve creating character sprites, environmental assets and basic animations (mostly idle).
This is a contract position for 3 months with a total budget of R$1,200. The project is scheduled to start in middle of October.
Responsibilities:
- Create pixel art assets for characters, enemies, and NPCs.
- Design environments props to capture the theme of different worlds.
- Animate characters and assets (Idle, Walking).
- Collaborate with the game designer to ensure consistency with the game's overall art direction.
- Implement revisions based on feedback.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in pixel art for games (please provide a portfolio or previous work).
- Ability to work within multiple size style guidelines (from 32x32 to 256x256).
- Experience with animating pixel art (frame-by-frame animations).
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Pluses (Not Required, but a Bonus):
- Deliverables and Work Forecast: Showcase an estimated forecast of the amount of work and deliverables you can complete each month over the course of the contract. This should include a breakdown of asset creation (e.g., character sprites, environment designs, animations) and a timeline for when these assets will be delivered. This will help us better manage the project's progress, expectations and ensure we meet our deadlines.
- Experience working on 2D platformer games.
- Knowledge of color theory and lighting in pixel art.
- Familiarity with Unity.
Budget and Payment:
- Total budget for this project is R$6,500 (Brazilian reais) / $1,150 (USD).
- Payment can be structured in milestones, or payment by stages based on deliverables. We'll find the better option for both parties.
