First-Person Tower-Defense game (prototype)
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
We are looking to develop a prototype for the game “Paranormal Defense” (working title). The prototype should include the main gameplay elements and work as a proof of concept.
—
"Paranormal Defense" (working title) is a first-person, tower-defense video game in which players take on the role of a paranormal investigator facing relentless waves of supernatural entities. Equipped with an array of specialized ghost-hunting tools—such as flashlights, energy scanners, and ghost guns—players must survive and protect their area by strategically placing and upgrading turrets. These turrets, combined with the investigator’s own skills and equipment, are essential to fend off escalating ghostly threats.
The game blends immersive first-person gameplay with strategic tower defense mechanics. Players can earn points by successfully neutralizing ghosts, which can then be spent on upgrades, such as improving turret firepower or enhancing personal equipment. As players progress, they’ll encounter tougher and more varied ghost types, encouraging adaptive strategies and resource management to survive each increasingly intense wave.
—
It is crucial that you have:
- Extensive experience in PC game development
- Proficient understanding of designing first-person perspective gameplay
- Skilled in crafting balanced, engaging levels that enhance gameplay flow and exploration.
--
For a basic prototype that demonstrates the core gameplay, here’s a short list of essentials:
- First-Person Controls: Basic player movement, aiming, and interactions with equipment (flashlight, ghost gun, etc.).
- Enemy AI (Ghosts): Simple ghost enemies with basic movement and attack patterns to represent waves.
- Turret Placement & Upgrades: Functionality for placing, upgrading, and removing turrets.
- Resource System: Points earned from defeating ghosts to be used for upgrades.
- Basic Level Layout: Small, simple area with a few strategic points for turret placement.
- UI Elements: Minimal UI to show player health, points earned, and turret status.
