Compact Chicago-Inspired Game City
Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD
I’m building a new game and need a believable, modern city environment on a modest, “indie-scale” footprint—think the compact maps you see in smaller Steam titles. The mood is distinctly Chicago-inspired, but it must still feel like its own place, rich with detail and tight enough for players to memorize quickly.
Scope and style
• Visual tone: realistic modern architecture, street furniture, and signage.
• Lighting: prepare the scene so it looks great in both day and night; I’ll wire up the actual day–night cycle later.
• Assets: I’ll supply most of the buildings, props, and materials. Your job is to assemble, polish, and fill any obvious gaps with lightweight custom meshes.
• Engine / formats: if you work in Unreal, Unity, or straight FBX that’s perfect—just keep everything well-organized.
Key districts to include
1. Downtown core with a few signature high-rises and an L-train-style elevated track.
2. Residential neighborhood of walk-ups and small parks.
3. Gritty industrial zone with warehouses and a riverfront loading area.
4. Compact beachfront promenade to open the skyline and add variety.
What I’ll review for acceptance
• Scene runs smoothly at 60 fps on a mid-range PC with basic baked lighting.
• Landmarks, street grid, and sightlines feel authentic and help player navigation.
• All provided assets are used efficiently, and any new ones follow the same texel density and naming conventions.
• One packaged project or zipped folder ready to drop into my repository.
If crafting tight, atmospheric game spaces is your specialty, let’s talk and get this city on the map.
