I’m bringing an LED flashlight to market that must deliver premium performance while keeping component and assembly costs razor-thin from day one. The product will be used outdoors at night, so reliable brightness and a notably long battery life are non-negotiable. Water resistance or tactical extras are welcome if they don’t inflate the bill of materials, yet the headline goal is clear: maximise runtime and durability without letting unit cost creep upward.

What I expect from you
• A complete electromechanical design optimised for Design-for-Manufacture (DFM) and high-volume assembly
• A costed BOM showing part numbers, unit prices and target margins
• Schematic, PCB layout (Altium or equivalent), mechanical enclosure files (SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or similar) and photometric data supporting outdoor night use
• Manufacturing documentation: assembly drawings, test procedure, and clear notes on tooling or fixture requirements
• A brief validation plan outlining how the design will meet advertised runtime and lumen output figures

Acceptance criteria
• ≥ X hours continuous operation on standard AA/18650 cells at full brightness
• Retail-ready COG target met or beaten as documented in the BOM
• Prototype build passes basic drop and splash tests typical for outdoor gear
