Mechanical Design (CAD) for Marine Aluminum Baitboard – DFM for Laser/Folding
Project Description:
I am looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Designer to create a production-ready CAD package for a new line of marine aluminum baitboards.
The design style is inspired by modern, high-end "folded plate" aluminum boards (similar to BMT Products). The goal is a sleek, modular design that is easy to manufacture and assemble.
Scope of Work:
* 3D Modeling: Create a complete 3D assembly including integrated rod holders, cup holders, and a recessed area for a cutting surface (HDPE).
* Design for Manufacturing (DFM): The design must be optimized for CNC Laser Cutting and CNC Press Brake folding. Use tab-and-slot features to minimize welding time and ensure easy alignment during assembly.
* Production Files: * Flat-pattern DXF files for laser cutting.
* 2D Technical Drawings (PDF) with bend angles and tolerances.
* 3D STEP/IGES files for overseas manufacturing.
* Basic Assembly Instructions/Exploded View.
* Material Specification: Design for 3mm and 5mm Marine Grade Aluminum (5052-H32).
Requirements:
* Proven experience in Sheet Metal Design using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Inventor.
* Understanding of marine-grade hardware and drainage requirements.
* Portfolio examples of sheet metal or marine-related CAD work must be provided with your bid.
