Historical Mechanical Kinetic Prop Design

Job ID: 40284153

Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD

I’m building a free-standing kinetic installation that tells a historical story through moving mechanical elements rather than costumed characters or electronics-heavy animatronics. The prop will rely on gears, cams, counterweights, and simple motor drives to create repeated, reliable motion sequences that feel period-authentic while still meeting modern safety standards.

Here’s what I need from you:

• Concept development that blends accurate historical styling with eye-catching, repeatable movement.
• Mechanical schematics or CAD models (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or comparable) showing linkages, drive systems, and fastener choices.
• A concise bill of materials noting readily available components and period-appropriate finishes.
• Assembly guidance and, if possible, a short proof-of-concept video or simulation demonstrating motion cycles.

Please base your proposal on similar kinetic sculptures, themed ride elements, museum exhibits, or mechanical theatre work you have completed. I will prioritise freelancers who can quickly show hands-on experience translating design concepts into durable, visitor-safe mechanical structures.
