3D Parametric CAD Design for an Organic Wooden Spine Chair (MVP-Ready)

Job ID: 40481320

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am looking for an experienced furniture designer or a parametric CAD engineer (proficient in SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion 360) to design a high-end, solid hardwood dining chair. The core concept combines a highly organic, ergonomic "spine/rib-cage" backrest with a minimalist, flat-profile solid wood seat. Because the design relies on a single central spine to bear the user's weight, structural integrity and smart wood joinery are critical.Key Design Constraints & Requirements:The Backrest (Spine & Ribs):A vertical central spine curved to match the natural human S-curve.Horizontal curved ribs (slats) with a concave contour to ergonomically hug the user’s back.Connection between ribs and spine must use robust woodworking joinery (e.g., sliding dovetails or deep mortise-and-tenon).The Seat & Frame:A solid wood flat panel profile from the outside to maintain a clean geometric look.Must feature a subtle ergonomic scoop (10-15mm depth) and a prominent waterfall front edge for long-sitting comfort.Weight Optimization:The final chair must be physically optimized for a target weight between 6.5 kg and 8.5 kg (simulated using American Walnut or Oak density).Components (like ribs and legs) should be smartly tapered to shed dead weight without compromising strength.Required Deliverables:3D Files: Production-ready 3D CAD models (.STEP and .IGES formats) suitable for multi-axis CNC milling.2D Blueprints: Fully dimensioned 2D engineering drawings (.PDF) with absolute millimeter measurements.1:1 Scale Templates: Printable vector templates (.PDF) for the spine profile and rib contours, allowing a traditional carpenter to cut them using a bandsaw.Documentation: A comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and an optimized Cut List for the lumber workshop. To Apply, Please Provide:Examples of your previous furniture designs, specifically organic wood or parametric modeling projects. The CAD software you intend to use for this project.Your estimated timeline to deliver the first 3D concept layout.
