Modern Prayer Kneeler Design
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I’m creating a fresh, modern take on the classic prayer kneeler (prie-dieu) and need a designer who can turn my rough notes into a clear, build-ready concept.
I want it to still be reverent and true-to-form as a prayer kneeler, but a fresh and modern twist (but still Christian and reverent)
What I’m after
• A modern style that feels reverent yet contemporary— I want it to be reconisable as a prie dieu, but also unique enough for buyers to know it's our product
• A basic blueprint with overall dimensions, main joinery calls-outs, and material suggestions (solid wood, plywood, or another timber you recommend).
- Must be flat-packable and easy to assemble (no tools)
Scope & tools
This is an initial concept, so the emphasis is on clarity rather than photorealistic detail. Feel free to work in SketchUp, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or a similar platform—whatever lets you export PDF drawings plus an editable file.
Useful details
• Seating height and knee cushion thickness should suit average adult use.
• I’d like the design to ship flat or semi-assembled if possible, but I’m open to your ideas.
• Hardware choices (e.g., dowels, cam locks, screws) are flexible; recommend what fits the modern aesthetic.
Deliverables
1. Dimensioned PDF drawing (front, side, top).
2. Editable source file.
3. One rendered or shaded view for quick visual review.
4. Short note on materials and finish options.
If you have experience designing small furniture pieces in a modern style, I’d love to see a sample. Let’s create a kneeler that feels at home in today’s living spaces while respecting its purpose.
