Apartment Floorplan Interpretation Needed
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
My son and roommate are moving into their first apartment post-college - age 22, Chicago Wrigleyville, great rooftop, close to food, gym, transport etc.. I'm attaching the apartment floorplan, as well as linked to the apartment listing (with one set of photos) as well as a video of the prior tenants (who decorated differently). Note: to right of the door there is a sizable closet on the R (can function like a mudroom) and storage in the utility closet to the Left also.
Looking for advice on how to think about furniture layout in the kitchen and main room:
1) How to view the area to the left of the door - try to make it added kitchen prep space or entry/storage
2) Is there room for any sort of kitchen cart/island? Think it's 6 feet from counter top edge to that small wall so no right -- unless maybe something against that small wall?
3) Could you instead float something kitchen like just outside the kitchen area?
4) What do you think about a dining table?
Boys are on a Wayfair / Ikea type of budget.
