Experienced Nonprofit Fundraising Strategist Needed – $400K Campaign (Latin America, Education & Mental Health)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced nonprofit fundraising consultant to help us design a practical, implementable fundraising strategy to raise $400,000 USD over 24 months for a growing Latin American education and youth mental health nonprofit.
This is a strategy and systems project, not day-to-day execution. We need someone who understands the realities of small, early-stage nonprofits and can design a plan that a 2-person team can realistically implement.
About the Organization (ALAS)
Asociación Latinoamericana de Sankirtan (ALAS) is a Mexico-based nonprofit focused on:
Youth mental health & suicide prevention
Literacy and free book distribution
Character development and life skills
Our mission:
Distribute 60,000 books and deliver mental health and suicide-prevention workshops to students across Mexico and Latin America.
Current status:
1.5 years of operations
Proven workshops and school partnerships
Small team (2 people)
In process of completing Donataria Autorizada (Mexican tax-exempt status)
Fundraising Goal & Scope
Total goal: $400,000 USD
Timeline: 24 months (starting January 2026)
Year 1 target: $240,000
Year 2 target: $160,000
Planned funding mix (flexible):
Individual donors & monthly giving
Crowdfunding campaigns
Foundation grants (primarily Year 2, post-legalization)
Corporate sponsorships
We understand that grant funding typically ramps up after legal registration and initial proof of impact.

We are open to phasing or prioritizing deliverables to fit budget and timeline.
Required Experience
Must-have:
5+ years nonprofit fundraising experience
Proven success raising $250K+ for small or mid-size organizations
Experience with multiple funding sources (individual donors, crowdfunding, grants, corporate)
Ability to explain fundraising concepts clearly to non-experts
Strong plus:
Experience with Latin America or international nonprofits
Knowledge of Mexican nonprofit or donor landscape
Bilingual English/Spanish
Education, youth, or mental health sector experience
Budget & Timeline
Budget range: $3,000 – $6,000 USD (fixed price, depending on scope and experience)
Timeline: 3–4 weeks for core strategy
Optional: Ongoing advisory support (separate hourly rate)
Payment structure:
($100) upfront / 30% midpoint / 70% final delivery
