Full-Stack Developer & DevOps Engineer – Production Deployment (NGINX, Node/Flask, Automation, Cloudflare)
Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced freelance full-stack developer/DevOps engineer to connect, automate, and deploy our front-end and back-end as a fully production-ready website. This is a high-visibility project for https://mlinzi.io that requires robust automation, secure deployment, and seamless integration between all components.
What We Have:
• Frontend codebase (React/HTML/JS, ready to deploy)
• Backend codebase (Flask Python API and/or Node.js API)
• Ubuntu 24.04 LTS VPS (root access)
• NGINX already installed
• Cloudflare DNS management (API access available)
• Automation scripts for upgrades, deployment, and troubleshooting
• Private GitHub repository for codebase
• Credentials and secrets securely stored on the server
What We Need Done:
• Connect the existing frontend and backend, ensuring secure, robust API communication
• Deploy both frontend and backend to the VPS, using best practices for production (NGINX reverse proxy, SSL via Certbot/Cloudflare, etc.)
• Automate the deployment process: scripts must be idempotent, robust, and log all actions
• Set up PM2 (for Node) or Gunicorn (for Flask) as needed for background service management
• Configure NGINX for static files, API proxying, admin panel, and SSL
• Integrate Cloudflare DNS and SSL automation (no manual steps)
• Set up GitHub sync for codebase backup and CI/CD triggers
• Implement a basic admin panel (HTML login, protected route)
• Add a live dashboard for logs and system health (HTML/JS, fetches from API/logs endpoint)
• Ensure all scripts and configs are production-grade, with error handling and recovery logic
• Document all steps, scripts, and credentials used
Ideal Candidate:
• Proven experience with full-stack deployments on Ubuntu (NGINX, Node.js, Python/Flask)
• Strong DevOps/automation background (PM2, Gunicorn, Docker optional)
• Familiarity with Cloudflare DNS and API automation
• Experience writing robust Bash scripts for deployment and troubleshooting
• Security-first mindset (no hardcoded secrets, best practices for admin/auth)
• Strong communicator, able to document and explain deployment steps

• Automated deployment scripts (with logging, retries, and error handling)
