Technical Co-Founder – Global Tech & E-Commerce Ventures
We're looking for a technical co-founder to join us in building and scaling a portfolio of technology and e-commerce ventures. The immediate focus is Layerline (layerline.io), a global 3D printing marketplace, and our custom e-commerce platform in development (think: vertical Shopify for 3D printing). This is a co-founder role — not a freelance gig. We're looking for someone who wants to build something big together.

THE ROLE
You will own the entire technical side of the business. This means:
Hands-On Development
• Building and shipping product — you code, not just delegate
• Custom-built e-commerce platform (currently built with Lovable)
• Front-end, back-end, integrations, automations
• Rapid prototyping — vibe coding mindset, leveraging AI tools to move fast
Architecture & Infrastructure
• Designing scalable architecture that grows with the business
• Third-party integrations (payment, shipping, ERP, CRM, analytics)
• Performance, security, and reliability
• Version control, CI/CD, and engineering best practices
AI & Automation
• Building AI-powered features (product recommendations, search, chatbots, dynamic pricing)
• Agentic AI solutions — autonomous workflows, AI agents, multi-step automation
• Automating operations across the business
Tech Strategy & Leadership
• Co-owning the product roadmap with the founding team
• Making build vs. buy decisions
• Hiring and managing developers as we scale
• Technical due diligence for new ventures within the portfolio
• Evolving our custom platform into a standalone SaaS product

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 7+ years software development experience
• Strong hands-on coding skills — you still ship code daily
• Full-stack capabilities — comfortable across front-end, back-end, and infrastructure
• Experience building and scaling e-commerce or marketplace platforms
• Deep understanding of AI/ML tools, agentic AI, and practical application
• Experienced with vibe coding tools (Lovable, Cursor, Copilot, Claude, etc.)
• Solid version control practices (Git, branching strategies, code review workflows)
• Entrepreneurial mindset — you think like a founder, not an employee
Bonus:
• Experience building SaaS/platform products from scratch
• Familiarity with the 3D printing or maker/hardware space
• Experience managing dev teams or offshore developers
• DevOps/cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, etc.)
• Previous co-founder or early-stage startup experience
