SaaS Email Automation Platform Developer

Job ID: 39378412

Budget: ₹250,000 – ₹500,000 INR

Job Title: Full Stack Developer – Email Marketing SaaS Product
Location: Remote (Bangalore, Chennai or Within India)
Type: Full-Time
Experience: 3–7 years

About the Role:

We're building a next-generation Email Marketing SaaS platform that enables businesses to launch, manage, and analyze email campaigns directly through their Gmail, Outlook 365, or custom SMTP/IMAP accounts. As a Full Stack Developer, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the entire product — from the user-facing interface to backend services and integration with email infrastructure.

This is an exciting opportunity to join early, take ownership, and help shape the future of email marketing automation.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Development: Design, develop, and maintain a full-stack SaaS web application for email marketing.

Email Campaign Management:

Develop features for managing email campaigns, including list segmentation, A/B testing, scheduling, and reporting.

Implement a drag-and-drop email editor for campaign creation, along with email template building using MJML or a WYSIWYG editor.

Automation & Scheduling:

Build automation features for time-based email sends, triggered campaigns, and follow-ups.

Implement background job processing to manage queues and retries for large email volumes.

Analytics and Reporting:

Develop real-time tracking and reporting dashboards for key metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, bounces, unsubscribes, and delivery stats.

Design features for generating and displaying email campaign reports and user engagement analytics.

Integrations:

Integrate with Gmail API, Microsoft Graph API (Outlook), and SMTP/IMAP services to send and receive emails.

Handle OAuth2 authentication flows for Gmail and Outlook integrations.

Scalable Architecture:

Write secure, scalable backend APIs that support growing email volume, user base, and campaign data.

Ensure high availability and performance of the application using cloud infrastructure and job queues (e.g., Redis, BullMQ).

Agency Module Development:

Develop and manage a multi-account/agency module that allows users to manage campaigns for multiple clients from a single platform.

Implement features like role-based access control (RBAC), where different levels of access (e.g., Admin, Manager, Client) can be assigned to users.

Enable white-labeling capabilities for agencies to customize their branding, email templates, and campaigns for each client.

Collaboration:

Work closely with Product, Design, and QA teams in an agile environment to iterate quickly on new features and improvements.

Maintain high code quality through testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.

Preferred Tech Stack:

Frontend:

React.js (preferred) or Vue.js for building interactive user interfaces.

Next.js for server-side rendering (SSR) and performance optimization (optional but recommended).

Tailwind CSS for utility-first styling.

MJML for responsive email templating.

Backend:

Node.js with Express.js for building RESTful APIs (preferred) or Python with FastAPI/Django.

PostgreSQL or MongoDB for data storage.

Redis for job queues and caching.

Nodemailer, Gmail API, Microsoft Graph API, and IMAP libraries for email integrations.

OAuth2 for Gmail/Outlook authentication.

DevOps / Tooling:

GitHub, GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD pipelines.

Docker for containerization and AWS, Render, or Railway for cloud deployment.

Sentry, PostHog, or Prometheus for monitoring and analytics.

Requirements:

Experience: 3–7 years of experience in full-stack development, ideally building SaaS platforms or applications.

Email Integration: Proven experience working with email APIs like Gmail API, Microsoft Graph API, or SMTP/IMAP for sending and receiving emails.

Automation Expertise: Experience building automation workflows, background job processing, and managing large email campaigns.

Frontend Development: Solid skills in building modern, responsive UIs using React.js, Next.js, and styling with Tailwind CSS.

Backend Development: Expertise in building RESTful APIs, handling asynchronous tasks, and optimizing applications for high performance.

Database Knowledge: Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

Version Control: Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.

Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.

Bonus Points:

Email Deliverability Expertise: Understanding of SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and how to ensure email campaigns are successfully delivered.

Analytics & Reporting: Experience with analytics and event tracking tools like PostHog, Mixpanel, or Google Analytics for building reports and dashboards.

DevOps Experience: Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and Docker for containerization.

UI/UX Design: Exposure to designing intuitive user interfaces for email templates, campaign management, and reporting.
