SAAS – Clinician Mileage Platform (Web based)

We are developing a Software-as-a-Service product designed for home health and hospice agencies. The platform will automate mileage calculation for clinicians based on their daily schedule reports. Clinicians currently record time-stamped visits across multiple patient homes, but mileage is tracked manually. Our goal is to streamline this process with an API-driven tool that accurately calculates total mileage, including travel from a clinician’s home to their first patient and from their last patient back home.
Role Responsibilities
Design and build a SAAS platform capable of ingesting clinician schedule reports (CSV/Excel/EMR exports).
Integrate with mapping/routing APIs (e.g., Google Maps, Mapbox, OpenRouteService) to calculate mileage between visit points.
Implement functionality to configure a clinician’s home address and include this in mileage totals.
Develop reporting dashboards and downloadable/exportable reports (e.g., PDF, CSV).
Build secure user authentication and clinician-level profiles.
Ensure scalability, performance, and compliance with HIPAA/security best practices.
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in full-stack development (Node.js / Python / Django / Ruby on Rails).
Experience integrating with geolocation and mapping APIs (Google Distance Matrix, Mapbox Directions, or similar).
Database design and management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
Familiarity with secure hosting (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Front-end skills (React, Vue, or Angular) for user-friendly dashboards.
Experience with healthcare data workflows is a plus.
Deliverables
MVP tool that processes a provided example visit report and outputs total mileage.
Functionality to configure clinician’s home base and compute additional legs (home-to-first, last-to-home).
Detailed API documentation and system architecture.
Deployment plan for cloud hosting and scalability.
