Full stack Web development for a MVP

We're looking for a talented and reliable Full Stack Developer to help us build a high-quality MVP for a web platform targeting a niche within the European housing market.
The platform aims to connect tenants and landlords but with potential for broader use cases later. We're in the early stages and are focused on launching a clean, scalable, and user-friendly MVP. We value a clean user experience, robust design, and scalable code. With UI we want elegant layouts, intuitive navigation, refined typography, and mobile responsiveness. Logo design will also be required.
Project Scope: Priority Features (MVP)
1. User Management
Email-based registration and login (with email verification and password reset)
Two user roles: tenant and landlord, each with appropriate permissions
Phone (SMS) verification (Twilio/Firebase)
ID verified via 3rd party for trust-building
2. Listings & Search
Create, edit, delete, and browse listings (rooms or studios, with images/pricing/details)
Rank listing and search results
Search filter by location, price, type, and availability etc.
Draw/search by map area (Mapbox/Google integration), Address autocomplete
Commute time calculator (e.g. to an address/university)
3. Modern UI/UX
Responsive, mobile-friendly design
High-quality, elegant layouts and smooth navigation
4. Create User Profiles
Public profile with name, profile photo, and role
Badge for verified users
"About me" section or preferences
5. Communication and Engagement
Internal Messaging: A secure inbuilt chat or message system between tenant and landlord.
Favorites: Bookmark/save listings
Chat availability status - last seen/availability
6. Trust & Safety
Profile Information: Display user profiles (info and verification tag)
Verified Email Indicator: “verified” badge for trusted users
Terms of Use & Community Guidelines: Displayed clearly during signup and in footer
Admin Moderation Tools:
Ability to suspend/remove listings
Flagged content dashboard
Report or Block Users/Spam Control
Draft mode for incomplete listings
7. Notifications (email-based): e.g., New messages, saved search alerts.
Email or in-app alerts for: New messages, Interest in listing, New matches based on saved search
8. Payment integration (e.g. Stripe/Paypal/Mollie) planned for future phases
9. Use a Pre-Built Content Moderation API (optional)
10. Documentation & Handoff:
- Clean codebase with clear instructions
- Setup guides

SEO: Good understanding is preferred

Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience building scalable web applications, particularly realestate or flatsharing marketplace.
- Strong background in technology or above listed tech stacks.
- Strong eye for clean, modern UI/UX, capable of translating design references into polished, responsive interfaces.
- Understanding of GDPR principles and ability to implement privacy-conscious data handling and protection mechanisms. Attention to privacy/security for European users is important.
- Strong communication, able to collaborate asynchronously, make suggestions, and work independently while keeping us updated on progress.
Timeline:
4 - 8 weeks seems reasonable but we prioritize quality and clean execution over speed.
