Full-Stack Game Paywall Developer
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
The first slice of our game’s frontend is already in place, but the UI needs a visual and usability upgrade before we move forward. Beginning tomorrow, I’d like you to step in, take ownership of the codebase, and carry the project all the way to production.
On the backend I’m leaning toward Node.js, yet I’m flexible on the stack if you can justify clear benefits. Our database is still open for discussion—feel free to propose SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB, etc.) solutions that best fit a live-service game. Whichever route we pick, clean schema design, migration strategy, and security best practices are essential.
Core scope
• Fix and polish the existing frontend, focusing specifically on user-interface design so it looks and feels like a modern game portal.
• Architect and build a robust paywall that supports in-game purchases, integrates smoothly with common payment gateways, and exposes clear APIs for the client side.
• Develop an admin dashboard that lets non-technical staff manage items, prices, promotions, and user entitlements in real time.
• Orchestrate full deployment (CI/CD, hosting, environment variables, monitoring).
• Produce developer-ready documentation covering setup, endpoints, and maintenance procedures.
Acceptance criteria
1. New UI passes device and accessibility checks (Chrome, Firefox, Safari; desktop + mobile).
2. In-game purchase flow completes end-to-end in a staging environment using test payment credentials.
3. Admin actions reflect instantly in the game client without server restarts.
4. Codebase is pushed to our private repo with a concise README and an annotated API reference.
If you can start tomorrow and enjoy taking a project from rough draft to polished release, let’s chat today so you have everything you need to hit the ground running.
