Full Stack Engineer (MERN / DevOps / FinTech)

Job ID: 39814481

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

About Us

Our mission is to revolutionize retirement and emergency savings by building a new type of plan that’s simple, incentive-driven, and works better for modern workers like truckers, home health care staff, and many others underserved by traditional retirement systems.

Our product is already live:

A mobile website for employees.
A back-end dashboard for employers.
Integrated with Finch for employment census data.

We’ve been featured in the Wall Street Journal, multiple podcasts, and have early customer interest. We recently secured funding and are scaling quickly.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer who can own the next critical phase of our product. You’ll work directly with the founder/product lead, alongside a small team (including engineers in India and Brazil). The role is hands-on: architecting, coding, integrating, and deploying.

This is not a maintenance role — you will be building the infrastructure that powers a next-generation retirement platform.

Responsibilities

* Lead development of key integrations, starting with:

* **SFTP connection with Broadridge** to handle file exchanges (debits, withdrawals, rollovers to IRAs).
* Ensure automation, reliability, and security in these processes.
* Collaborate on **deployment strategy** (currently ECS, but EC2/Windows also requested — you’ll help shape the path forward).
* Manage and streamline **DevOps processes** (cloud deployments, CI/CD, monitoring).
* Contribute to full stack development (MERN stack focus).
* Participate in product discussions and provide feedback on scalability and technical direction.
* Suggest and prototype **AI-driven features** (e.g., tailoring incentives and goals for employees).

Requirements

* **5+ years full stack development experience**, preferably with MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node).
* Strong knowledge of **cloud deployment (AWS ECS/EC2)** and **DevOps best practices**.
* Experience with **SFTP file handling**, integrations, and working with external partners.
* Product-minded: ability to balance speed, quality, and business needs.
* Comfortable joining customer/vendor calls and representing the tech side.
* Highly available (not necessarily 9–5, but able to respond daily and collaborate closely).
* Bonus: AI/ML experience, especially around recommendation systems or incentive structures.

What We Offer

* **Flexible, remote-first role** — you’ll work directly with the founder in a highly collaborative environment.
* Competitive hourly rate (target: **\$15–\$20/hr**, flexible based on experience).
* Opportunity to **shape the foundation of a billion-dollar company** in the making.
* High-velocity, high-impact work — you’ll see the results of your contributions immediately.

Current Project Status

* Dev environment deployed on **ECS** (turned off, awaiting configuration).
* Customer considering **EC2 (Windows)** deployment; decision needed between ECS vs EC2.
* MVP works (employee portal + employer dashboard) but requires Broadridge integration before onboarding first customers.
* Timeline: **MVP enhancements needed within 4–8 weeks**.
