Part-Time Full Stack Developer (POS + Marketplace | Hybrid Mobile | Ongoing Project)

About Us

We are a technology company building a modern Point-of-Sale (POS) platform and marketplace. Our platform enables businesses to manage operations while giving members a seamless way to browse and purchase products.

We are currently launching within a highly regulated sector and integrating with systems such as METRC. As we scale, we will expand into broader retail, including brick-and-mortar and e-commerce businesses.

This is a long-term opportunity focused on building and scaling a real product.

Position Overview

We are hiring a part-time developer (individual or team) for an hourly position to help build, refine, and scale our platform.

You will be working closely with the founder, so strong communication and reliability are essential.

You will be stepping into a project that is already well underway. We currently have:

Three backend dashboards
One fully built frontend website
One iOS app (hybrid via Capacitor)

The platform is at a near-complete MVP stage. The focus now is on refinement, optimization, security, and final feature completion as we prepare for launch within the next few weeks.

Work Structure
Part-time, hourly position
Consistent daily hours (to be agreed upon)
Availability required Monday through Friday
Working hours must fall within 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST (Austin, Texas)
Weekends are off

Virtual video meetings will be required during the interview process and periodically throughout the project. If you are not able or willing to participate in virtual video meetings, please do not apply.

Tech Stack

You should be comfortable working within or quickly adapting to:

Backend: Node.js (v22), Express
Database: PostgreSQL
Frontend: React (v19), Vite, Tailwind CSS
Infrastructure: AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, S3, CloudFront, ALB, SES)
Mobile: Capacitor (hybrid iOS app using existing React codebase)
CI/CD: GitHub Actions
Testing: Jest, Vitest
Development Workflow: Git-based version control and collaborative development
AI/Dev Tools: Claude Code and AI models (Anthropic, Haiku 4.5+)
Communications: Twilio (SMS, voice, backend integrations)

Mobile & iOS Requirements

Experience with hybrid mobile architecture (Capacitor)
Ability to convert and maintain a React web app into a functional iOS app
Experience with iOS builds, provisioning, certificates, and App Store submission
Familiarity with App Store compliance and review guidelines (especially in regulated industries)
Comfortable working in a cloud-based Mac environment for building, testing, and submitting apps (access will be provided)

Security & Tools

Strong understanding of secure coding practices
Experience working with authentication, API security, and data protection
Familiarity with password managers / secure vault systems (1Password, Bitwarden, or similar)
Ability to follow structured access control and credential management practices

Responsibilities

Refine and optimize existing systems across backend, frontend, and mobile
Build and complete remaining features ahead of launch
Improve performance, stability, and user experience
Implement and maintain hybrid mobile (iOS) functionality using Capacitor
Work within AWS infrastructure and deployment pipelines
Collaborate effectively and communicate progress clearly
Contribute to system architecture and long-term scalability

Priorities

Security takes precedence over everything. Experience with secure coding practices is required.

User experience is the second priority. The platform should feel polished, intuitive, and efficient for both business owners and end users.

Ideal Candidate

Strong communicator and responsive
Comfortable working directly with a founder in a fast-paced environment
Has a core specialty (frontend, backend, database, or security) but can operate across the stack
Experience with SaaS platforms, POS systems, marketplaces, or regulated industries is a plus
Self-starter who can problem-solve and think beyond assigned tasks

Requirements

Must be able to participate in virtual video meetings when required
Must be reliable and available during agreed working hours
Must be comfortable working in an evolving, startup-style environment
