Full-Stack Developer for Innovative Sustainability Platform
Budget: £3,000 – £5,000 GBP
We are seeking an expert full-stack developer or agency to build an innovative SaaS platform designed to engage employees in meaningful climate action.
Our platform's core mission is to connect employees to sustainability. Companies subscribe to our service to empower their workforce, offering them a unique benefit: the ability to direct company-sponsored "eco-credits" to a curated portfolio of certified global sustainability projects.
While the primary focus is the employee experience, the platform also provides the necessary admin tools for companies to manage the program and track the collective impact of their team, contributing to their overall sustainability goals. We have a complete UI/UX prototype and are ready for a technical partner to bring this vision to life.
2. Scope of Work & Core Modules
The scope is for the end-to-end development of the MVP. The primary focus is the engaging and polished employee portal, supported by a functional admin portal.
Part A: The Employee Portal (Core User Experience)
Onboarding & Personalization: A guided, multi-step flow for new users, including profile setup, a carbon footprint calculation questionnaire, and sustainability interest selection.
Project Discovery & Allocation: An intuitive marketplace for employees to explore sustainability projects and allocate their eco-credits.
Dashboard & Analytics: A personalized hub showing the employee's personal impact data, supported projects, and gamified achievements (badges).
Supporting Pages: Detailed pages for Impact Metrics, Achievements, My Supported Projects, and user Settings.
Part B: The Employer (Admin) Portal (Management Layer)
Onboarding & Subscription: A simple setup wizard for companies to subscribe via Stripe.
Team Management: A dashboard to invite employees (individually or via CSV upload) and manage their status.
Billing & License Management: A portal to manage payment methods, user license counts, and view invoice history.
Reporting: High-level dashboards to view corporate emissions data and a historical log of carbon offset transactions.
Settings: Pages for managing company branding and the admin's own profile.
3. Key Technical Requirements
We have defined a modern, type-safe, and scalable tech stack for this project.
Frontend: Next.js (using the App Router). Must be fully responsive.
Backend: NestJS (on Node.js), with a clean, modular architecture.
Database: PostgreSQL.
ORM: Prisma for type-safe database access.
Language: TypeScript across the entire stack.
Payment Integration: Stripe API for subscriptions and prorated billing.
Deployment: Deployment to a modern cloud infrastructure (e.g., Vercel for frontend, a PaaS like Render for backend/DB).
4. What We Will Provide
Complete, high-fidelity UI/UX designs in Figma for all screens and components.
A detailed functional specification document.
All required brand assets.
A dedicated and responsive project manager for clear communication.
5. What We Are Looking For
An individual or agency with proven experience building engaging, consumer-facing user flows within a SaaS product.
Expert-level proficiency in our required tech stack: Next.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, and Prisma.
Extensive experience with Stripe API integration is mandatory.
A commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
A portfolio that showcases complex, full-stack TypeScript projects with a strong emphasis on user experience.
6. How to Apply
Please provide the following in your proposal:
A brief introduction to you/your agency and your relevant experience.
Your estimated total project cost for the full MVP scope.
An estimated project timeline with key milestones.
A confirmation of your agreement with our proposed technology stack.
Links to 2-3 projects from your portfolio that are most relevant to this brief.
We are excited to build a platform that makes a real difference, and look forward to finding the right technical partner for our journey.
