Full-Stack Developer — Stock Analysis & Scoring Application

About the project
I'm building a stock analysis application that automates a rigorous 12-point investment scoring framework (moat quality, gross margin, ROE, FCF, management integrity, valuation ratios, etc.) across ASX and US equities. The app includes a stock screener, portfolio tracker, watchlist with alerts, and an AI-powered analysis layer using the Anthropic Claude API.
Tech stack
- Backend: Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL, Redis
- Frontend: React (web) + React Native / Expo (iOS & Android)
- Data: Refinitiv or Morningstar API integration
- AI: Anthropic Claude API
- Hosting: Railway / Vercel
What you'll build (v1 scope)
- REST API backend with authentication, stock data ingestion, and ratio calculation engine
- Stock screener with 12-point scoring logic and tier-based ratings
- Portfolio tracker supporting two separate portfolios (ETF and quality equity)
- Watchlist with catalyst tracking and price alert system
- AI analysis module that fetches IR pages, calculates ratios from raw financials, and returns scored verdicts
- Responsive web app + iOS/Android mobile app (shared codebase via Expo)
What I'm looking for
- 3+ years full-stack experience (Python backend + React/React Native frontend)
- Proven experience integrating third-party financial or data APIs
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly in English
- Available full-time (or near full-time) for approximately 3 months
- Portfolio or GitHub showing relevant projects
Nice to have
- Experience with financial data (stock prices, ratios, fundamentals)
- Familiarity with Anthropic Claude API or other LLM APIs
- Experience with Expo EAS Build for app store deployment
Engagement
Full-time contract, remote. Duration: ~3 months for v1, with potential for ongoing work.
