Full-Stack Developer for a B2B Group-Buying PWA (Marketplace MVP)
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer (or a small team of 2) to build a B2B Group-Buying Marketplace for the East African market.
We have a proven business model and a high-quality HTML prototype. Your goal is to transform this prototype into a working, functional MVP.
Product:
PWA (Progressive Web App) connecting local businesses with wholesale suppliers (Alibaba model). Key mechanic: users join "pools" to access wholesale prices.
Scope of Work:
Frontend (PWA Mobile First):
Convert an existing HTML/Tailwind prototype to a reactive application (React/Vue/Next.js).
Must work flawlessly on 3G networks (offline mode, caching, lightweight). User Flow: Catalog -> Join Pool (progress bar logic) -> Place Order (payment).
Reseller Mode: A feature that allows users to relist purchased products for sale in your region.
Control Panel and Administration:
Product Management (manual entry).
Group Buying Logic: Automatic pool progress calculation (e.g., "Sold 12/20"),
Timer: "7 days left to collect.", tiered pricing triggers.
Agent System: Referral code generation, commission tracking for sales agents.
Order Management: Simple statuses (Processing -> Shipped -> Arrived).
Initial Content Population (Demo Data):
The marketplace must be pre-populated with 20-30 real, high-volume B2B products from Alibaba (e.g., phone accessories, stationery, packaging). Requirement: Use real images, descriptions, and tiered pricing logic (e.g., price for 1-10 items: $5, price for 11-50 items: $4). Note: This is necessary for testing the user interface and group buying logic. Alibaba API integration is not required; you can copy and paste this data manually to demonstrate the admin panel.
Admin Panel (For You)
Product Management: Manual card creation (copy-paste from Alibaba).
Pool Management: Ability to manually close a pool (even if not completed) and change the status ("Ordered").
CRM (Database): Customer list, agent list, order history.
Export: "Download order to Excel" button (so you can send the file to the supplier/logistics specialist).
Integrations:
Simple WhatsApp and Gmail notifications (via API).
MVP does NOT require payment gateways (manual payment confirmation by the administrator).
NATIVE apps (iOS/Android) are NOT required. PWAs only.
Requirements:
Experience with PWAs is REQUIRED.
Tech stack: Open to suggestions (e.g., MERN, Laravel, Python), but must be scalable.
Experience with e-commerce logic.
Lean approach: Don't overdo the development. We need a lean MVP.
Deliverables:
Source code (Git).
Working version deployed to the cloud (AWS/DigitalOcean).
Documentation for the admin panel.
Budget and Timeline:
Budget: Fixed price (offer your own). Bid in the range of $2,000.
Timeline: 6-8 weeks.
