Full-Stack Developer Needed: Build a Custom Food Community Hub (Non-E-commerce Platform)
1. Project Overview & Core Idea
We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer or development team to build a comprehensive online community platform (Web Application). The core goal is to create a digital space dedicated to connecting local, talented home-cooks and food vendors (Vendors) with regular users (Users).
• Primary Focus: A platform to showcase visually appealing, high-quality home-cooked meals, recipes, and desserts.
• Key Feature: The entire system is built around content submission, display, community interaction, and most importantly, Ratings & Reviews.
Crucial Note for Developers: This is NOT an E-commerce store. There will be absolutely no features for selling, purchasing, online payment processing, shopping carts, or commission collection within the platform. All commercial transactions will occur externally, off-platform.
2. Functional Requirements (Minimum Viable Product - MVP)
The application will feature two main user roles:
A. Dish Vendor / Home Cook (The Seller)
• User registration/login system (Email or Phone Number).
• A dedicated Dashboard for content management.
• Ability to Add/Edit/Delete their listed dishes.
• Each dish listing must include: High-quality image, name, detailed description, category, and Price (Optional, for display only).
• A public Vendor Profile Page to display their bio and all their dishes.
• Ability to clearly display their Contact Information (WhatsApp number, Instagram link) on their dish pages.
B. Visitor / Regular User
• User registration/login system (Required for posting reviews).
• Ability to browse dishes via the Home Page or Categories.
• Advanced Search System (by Dish Name or Vendor Name).
• Ratings & Reviews System (Core Feature): Ability to rate a dish using a star system (1 to 5 stars) and write a comment/review.
• Ability to view the average rating for both the individual dish and the Vendor.
C. Public Interface (General)
• Home Page: Display the newest and highest-rated dishes.
• Detailed Dish Page: Display the image, description, Vendor information, and a prominent section for viewing/adding Reviews and Ratings.
3. Preferred Technical Stack
We prefer a developer with strong experience in Custom Web Development. Please mention your expertise in one of the following stacks:
• Option 1 (Modern): React/Next.js for the Frontend + Node.js (Express) for the Backend.
• Option 2 (Reliable): Laravel (PHP) or Django (Python).
• Database: PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• File Storage: AWS S3 or equivalent for image and media storage.
4. Deliverables & Expectations
We expect the developer to provide the following:
1. Clean and Well-Documented Code with clear file structure.
2. Implementation of Responsive Design principles to ensure cross-device compatibility (Mobile, Tablet, Desktop).
