React App to Mobile PWA
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
My existing React JS application is ready for the next step: a full conversion into a Progressive Web App so users can install it directly on their phones and enjoy a native-like experience.
The scope starts with PWA essentials—service worker, web manifest, icons, splash screens—and should comfortably clear Lighthouse’s PWA checks. Only limited offline access is required: the core UI and cached API calls must remain available, but exhaustive data storage is unnecessary.
While refactoring the build, I also need lingering bugs eliminated and performance tightened. Console warnings, a navigation glitch, and slow initial load have been noted; code-splitting, lazy loading, and bundle analysis are welcome strategies to keep the app fast on mobile networks.
Deliverables
• Updated React codebase with service worker, manifest, and install prompt
• Configured build scripts for streamlined deployment
• Verified limited offline functionality (core screens load, queued actions sync on reconnect)
• Bug-free runtime with performance metrics showing clear improvement
• Short hand-off document summarising changes, how to test, and install instructions
The repository lives on GitHub with Create-React-App and Webpack already in place; alternatives are fine if they clearly outperform the current setup. A successful hand-over will hit a Lighthouse PWA score above 90, remove console errors, and shave at least 20 % off the current mobile first-contentful-paint time.
