Plugin for Ghost Blogging Platform

Looking to have an embeddable Javascript plugin for the Ghost blogging platform. The plugin would add a few additional elements to the New Post page, be able to update these elements from API calls and should interact with the Ghost Content API - namely inserting featured images and in-post images.
For example, a modal can be shown listing 10 images, the user searches and the 10 images are updated. On click, the image gets set as a featured image or inserted into the post.
The plugin will need to interact with an external API. These interactions are specified and will be provided, and the request and responses can be mocked. The plugin should have clean code and be extensible. The final plugin code should be bundled into a single javascript file, and at most also include a separate css file.
