NodeJS Cross-Platform App Overhaul
Budget: ₹12,500 – ₹37,500 INR
I have an existing cross-platform application written in Node JS that now feels dated and sluggish. I want to breathe new life into it by modernising the user interface, tightening overall performance, and rolling out several long-awaited features.
Scope of work
• User interface: refresh the entire front end so it looks and feels contemporary on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Consistent styling, responsive layouts, and an intuitive navigation flow are essential.
• Performance: identify current bottlenecks, refactor slow routines, and make sure the app opens quickly, renders pages smoothly, and remains stable during prolonged sessions.
• New features:
– Profile creation & management (sign-up, edit profile, save preferences).
– Offline reading of EPUB and PDF files, including basic library management.
– “Smooth running” pass: after the above changes, the app should still run fluidly on every target device without memory spikes or frame drops.
Deliverables
1. Updated source code with clear, well-commented commits.
2. Build/installation packages or test links for desktop, tablet, and mobile versions.
3. Short hand-off document that explains new modules, dependencies, and how to build from source.
4. A final walk-through session (video or live) to demonstrate the new UI, added features, and performance improvements.
Acceptance criteria
• UI loads in under three seconds on mid-range hardware.
• Offline EPUB/PDF viewer opens files <250 MB without crashing and supports basic navigation (next/previous page, table of contents, search).
• Smooth scrolling and page transitions at 60 FPS on devices tested.
• All code passes linting and unit tests provided.
The existing repository is ready to share after project kickoff, along with a list of known issues and sample content files. If you are confident working with Node JS and cross-platform stacks, I look forward to seeing how you would approach this overhaul.
