Magento Homepage Add-to-Cart Fix

The “Add to Cart” buttons that appear on product widgets and featured items on my Magento storefront homepage have stopped responding. Every other part of the site—product pages, category listings, checkout—still works, so the problem is isolated to the homepage and is purely a frontend matter.

I’m looking for someone who can quickly pinpoint the root cause (likely JavaScript / AJAX related), correct it without touching core files, and hand back a clean solution. A short note explaining what was changed is all I need for future reference.
