Scope of Work
Phase 1: Urgent Priority (RSS Feed)
Fix Feed Output: Troubleshoot and fix the RSS feed so that both images and full content appear correctly when the feed is fetched by external readers.
Category Hashtags: Modify the RSS feed output so that the post's Category is automatically included as a hashtag (e.g., #CategoryName) within the feed text.
Phase 2: Navigation & UI Enhancements
Mega Menu Compression (See Attached Image): Optimize and compress the styling of the existing Mega Menu so it can accommodate significantly more menu items. Please review the attached reference image ("CANALSANO AVERS • CANAL RESTORATION • CANALENANCERS CANDAGAS • ABCUT CONTACT.jpg"), which shows the current dropdown layout. The padding and empty columns need to be condensed to efficiently fit a large list of waterways.
Social Media Integration: Add three new social media icons and links to the site header/footer: Threads, Mastodon, and Bluesky.
Widget Formatting: Fix current formatting issues with site widgets, specifically addressing a bug where they do not close down or collapse correctly.
Phase 3: Page Formatting & Templates
Template Refactoring: Reorganize the bottom "campaign" section on the current page templates for better structure, and completely remove the "mini campaign" items.
Location Posts Sorting: Change the query/sorting order of "Location" posts so they display in the correct chronological order (they are currently displaying in reverse).
Specific Page Formatting: Improve the overall layout, formatting, and visual design of the #fundbritainwaterways page.
Custom Templates: Create distinct, dedicated layout templates for the Engineer and Restorations content types.
Phase 4: User Accounts
User Profiles: Implement basic frontend profile pages for users logging into the site, allowing them to view and manage their account details.
Requirements for Freelancers:
Proven experience with core WordPress development, custom theme templates, and RSS feed manipulation.
Strong CSS/JS skills for UI widget troubleshooting and Mega Menu optimization.
Commitment to using standard WordPress blocks for all layouts.
