Interactive Pattern Creation App

Job ID: 40581988

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am looking for a skilled frontend developer to build a lightweight, highly visual web application for in-store touch tablets/kiosks.

The app’s purpose is simple: allow children to create seamless, tileable patterns using our pre-made Creative Library of PNG assets. The interface must be large, intuitive, and fun, with no complex menus or confusing steps. A clear, specific job title and detailed scope like this helps attract the right freelancers.

## Project Overview
This will be a standalone web app designed for children to use on a touchscreen kiosk or tablet. The user flow should be easy enough for a child to understand immediately: choose artwork, place it on the canvas, edit it, preview the tiled result, and finish by saving or printing. Clear deliverables and a realistic timeline are important for getting accurate bids.

## Key Features
- Central art board/canvas for building the design.
- Scrollable creative library sidebar with pre-made PNG elements.
- Drag-and-drop or tap-to-place interaction for assets.
- Canvas editing tools: move, scale, rotate, and delete.
- Real-time tile preview showing how the pattern repeats seamlessly.
- “Done” button to flatten the design and export a high-resolution image.
- Export should support JPEG and/or PDF optimized for postcard or gift-wrap dimensions.
- No login, account creation, or user accounts required.
- App should work as a PWA or local/offline web app for kiosk use.

## Technical Requirements
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
- Experience with a canvas library such as Fabric.js, Konva.js, or p5.js.
- Must support touchscreen interactions and responsive kiosk/tablet usage.
- Should be optimized for local/offline fullscreen use.
- Must be able to generate a print-ready seamless repeating pattern file.
- Clean, maintainable code with basic testing and deployment support.

## What We Provide
- All PNG assets for the Creative Library.
- Final print size dimensions and technical specs.

## Timeline
The full project must be completed, tested, and deployed within 2 weeks.

## What to Include in Your Proposal
Please share:
- Examples of interactive canvas, drag-and-drop, or pattern/photo-editing web apps you have built.
- Which JavaScript framework or canvas library you recommend for this 2-week timeline, and why.
- Your estimated delivery plan or milestones.

## Ideal Developer
We are looking for someone who has strong frontend experience, has built interactive canvas-based apps before, and can move quickly while keeping the UI simple, stable, and polished. Strong, specific skill requirements help freelancers self-select correctly and improve proposal quality.
