Basic HTML Image Gallery code + instructions

Job ID: 40367332

Budget: $10 – $30 AUD

I have a folder of images and need a lightweight gallery built entirely with plain HTML and CSS (a pinch of vanilla JavaScript is fine if you feel it improves the user experience). Please deliver:

• A clean index.html that loads sample images so I can see the result immediately.
• An external styles.css with clear, well-commented rules.
• Optional script.js if you add simple interactivity (fade-in, lightbox, or arrow navigation).
• A brief README or inline comments walking me through how to swap in my own photos, change the number of columns, and how to include it in an existing html landing page. This is to go on to a white bg page.

Keep everything framework-free—no Bootstrap, no jQuery—so the code stays easy to maintain and drop into any site. Aim for quick load times and sensible semantics (figure, img, figcaption where appropriate). Responsive behaviour is desirable but doesn’t need to be pixel-perfect on every device; a straightforward media query that stacks images on small screens will do.

When you’re done, send a zipped package containing the HTML, CSS, any JS, and the README. I’ll consider the job complete once I can unzip, open index.html in a browser, and see the gallery working exactly as described.
