Intermediate French Translator (Montreal, Toronto or Winnipeg)
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
As a high-performance Intermediate French Translator, you will be part of the French Creative and Translation Team and will report to the Senior Team Leader, French Creative & Content. This Team is responsible for the translation from English to French of all Skip-related content.
Being a native French speaker, your role will be crucial to help Skip extend its reach into the Quebec market. The ideal candidate is a keen advocate for the French language, has a Bachelor's Degree in Translation, 3 to 5 years of on-the-job experience, is familiar with transcreation and its process, and is familiar with the most common advertising channels.
You will proofread content, review for accuracy, consistency, typography, and grammar, and make sure that all translations align with voice and tone as well as brand standards. This could include but is not limited to, marketing campaigns, platform updates, communications to various stakeholders, and legal documents. You may be asked to assist in such tasks as content rewrites or development. The role is really a blend of translation and revision. To function effectively, you must have excellent written and oral communication skills in French and English and will be required to work closely with various stakeholders and teams.
This is a full-time 18-month contract opportunity with the potential for extension.
