300-Page Memoir Formatting Cleanup

I have a completed, 300-page memoir/guide laid out in Microsoft Word with a large number of photos inserted throughout the manuscript. The text itself is locked; what I need is a meticulous formatting pass so the file is clean enough to upload directly for U.S. copyright registration.

Here’s the current state: extra blank lines appear randomly, photos are mixed in line, in text boxes, and sometimes floating, and their sizes vary from page to page. Headings already read the way I want, but visual consistency is missing. Your task is to eliminate every stray blank space, ensure paragraphs sit where they belong, and bring all images to a uniform size and alignment so the narrative flows naturally without jarring jumps in layout.

I work in Word 365 and will supply the native .docx file along with any linked images. Please preserve existing pagination, section breaks, and all text exactly as is. I only need the formatting polished—no copy-editing, rewriting, or image retouching.

Deliverable
• A single, cleaned .docx that opens without compatibility warnings, contains no extra blank paragraphs, and features evenly sized, consistently aligned photos throughout
• A brief change log noting any unavoidable adjustments (for instance if a photo needed minor rescaling to fit within margins)
