Homie MVP Development

We are building Homie, an innovative roommate and shared flat matching app that connects people not only based on objective criteria like price or location, but especially on personality, vibe, and lifestyle.

Goal of the App:
• Personality-based matching instead of pure parameter search
• Authentic profiles with video feature for a real first impression
• Swipe-matching system (similar to dating apps) for quick, intuitive selection
• Vibe filters based on lifestyle, interests, daily rhythm, etc.
• In-app communication including a calendar for viewing appointments

Core MVP Features
1. User registration & profile creation
• Basic data, interests, housing preferences
• Video profile upload
2. Swipe-matching
• Suggestions based on vibe filter and matching algorithm
3. Search filters
• Budget, location, housing type, lifestyle
4. Messaging & scheduling
• Chat function
• In-app calendar with appointment confirmation
5. Listing management
• Create, edit, and deactivate listings

Technical Requirements:
• Platforms: iOS & Android (cross-platform preferred, e.g., Flutter or React Native)
• Backend with matching algorithm (e.g., Node.js, Python, Firebase, or similar, for the MVP this isn't essential))
• Integration of video upload & streaming (e.g., cloud storage + CDN)
• Secure user management (OAuth, GDPR compliant)

What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a developer who can build our MVP and advise us on the technical architecture. The focus is on scalable, clean code so the app can be easily expanded in later stages.
