I’m ready to have a complete floor plan drawn for a compact rental property that will hold one to two bedrooms. Functionally, I want the public areas—kitchen, and living—tied together in an open-concept flow, while the bedrooms and bath remain clearly defined, giving the overall design a balanced mix of openness and well-separated private rooms.
Please translate this concept into a clear architectural drawing I can provide to contractors and potential tenants. A single-story layout makes the most sense for budget and accessibility, but I’m open to multi-level ideas if you have a clever space-saving solution.
My ideal deliverable is a dimensioned floor plan in both PDF for easy sharing and the original editable file (DWG, Revit, or similar) so changes can be made later. If you work in SketchUp or another 3D tool, feel free to include a basic model—seeing the circulation in 3D helps me visualise furniture placement.
I’ll review on functionality first: smooth traffic flow, adequate storage, and realistic wall thicknesses. If anything feels cramped or overscaled, we’ll iterate until it works.
