Universal TV & Fire Remote

I need a single physical remote that can operate both my television and my Amazon Fire TV Stick without forcing me to juggle two handsets or dive into menus. The core requirement is seamless switching between the two devices—ideally it should “just work”, letting me power the TV on/off, change channels, and adjust volume, while also retaining full control over the Fire TV interface.

Essential details
• Form-factor: traditional handheld remote with tactile buttons (no touchscreen or voice mic necessary).
• Button set: at minimum power, volume ±, channel ±, and the usual directional/OK cluster so that navigating Fire TV is comfortable.
• Connectivity: IR for the TV and whatever protocol you judge most reliable for Fire TV (Bluetooth LE is the obvious path, but I’m open to a creative hybrid if it improves battery life or pairing simplicity).
• Ergonomics & durability: consumer-friendly plastic shell, AA/AAA cells or rechargeable Li-ion, and firmware that wakes instantly from sleep.

Deliverables
1. Schematics and BOM for the electronics.
2. Firmware source with build instructions.
3. 3D design files (STL/STEP) for the enclosure.
4. A working prototype video or live demo proving it can power the TV, change channels/volume, and navigate the Fire TV interface back-to-back.

Acceptance criteria
• One-press handover between TV and Fire TV with no noticeable lag.
• Button presses register first time, every time, at 5 m distance.
• Battery life projection of at least six months on standard cells.
