Design Custom SOM Carrier Board

Job ID: 39828494

Budget: €250 – €750 EUR

I am developing a consumer-electronics device built around a System-on-Module and need a purpose-built carrier board to bring the product to life. The board has to handle robust power management, drive a touch display, integrate a cellular/LP-WAN modem, and expose USB-C for both power input and high-speed data.

Key functions that must be proven on the board
• Power management chain sized for battery or external supply, including charging and protection
• USB-C port configured for PD negotiation and USB 3.x data routing to the SOM
• Touch-display interface (DSI or RGB; final choice to be confirmed together)
• Modem integration with SIM holder, antenna lines, and necessary level shifting
• Test points and headers for firmware flashing and bring-up

Deliverables
1. Complete schematics in Altium, KiCad, or another mainstream tool we agree on
2. Multi-layer PCB layout ready for fabrication (Gerbers, drill files, pick-and-place)
3. Updated BOM with manufacturer part numbers and second-source options
4. Power-up sequence and signal-integrity considerations documented for my firmware team
5. A short bring-up guide that lets me verify every rail, interface, and peripheral on the first article

I will choose the freelancer based on the depth and clarity of the detailed project proposal, so please outline your envisioned architecture, relevant past designs, and the test strategy you would apply. If you can include an estimated timeline broken into schematic, layout, and review milestones, that will help me lock the schedule quickly.

Looking forward to collaborating on a rock-solid board that makes our new device production-ready.
