fea ansys on ligament and mensiscus

Job ID: 36048685

Budget: £18 – £36 GBP

Use the model I shared with you at the beginning of this semester since this model can be meshed with no problem. The model you presented this morning could not get every bone well meshed. You would be stuck if you continue to use the old model.
Please define the ligaments using line element (beam). Use small cross section area for it, the smaller the better. The alternative way is to use spring element to model ligament. You need to read more literature to understand how to model spring element in ANSYS.
Define the contact of the knee joint. Define frictionless contact between femur and top surface of meniscus bone. Define bounded contact between tibia and bottom surface of meniscus bone. If you don’t understand frictionless contact and bounded contact in ANSYS, please google them.
Define boundary condition of the knee joint.
Run the simulations.
Change the material properties of the meniscus bone, then run simulations accordingly.
Compare the simulation results from step 6 and make suggestions for meniscus replacement material selection.

Please complete step 2 and 3 in the next week and show me the results on Thursday.
