PCB FEA under Pogo Pin Load
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I need a FEA report to verify or proof that a printed-circuit board has sufficient support when it is under test using spring loaded pogo pins. The board will supported top and bottom, and then pressed simultaneously by spring-loaded probes that contact both surfaces. My priority is to understand the overall deformation under load; secondary insights such as stress concentrations and margin to yield will naturally follow from the same study.
The model has already been built in CAD, and I will supply the Board outline, pin locations, probe forces and locations. Your task is to import this geometry into Simulation, assign appropriate composite or FR-4 orthotropic material properties to the PCB, apply boundary conditions that replicate the top-and-bottom supports, and load the board with the distributed pogo-pin forces. A linear static run is acceptable to simplify.
Deliverables
• Results and plots of strain, stress and deformation model.
• A brief recommendation section if additional stiffeners or support posts appear necessary
