Need HyperMesh Expert for Structural Simulation (.fem output required)
Budget: $10 – $85 USD
Project Description:
Please read this carefully before sending your offer.
I'm looking for someone experienced in Altair HyperMesh and HyperView to help with a structural simulation and optimization project. The focus is on the backrest of an aluminum chair, and both the STEP CAD file and a PDF with all instructions are already uploaded.
This must be done using HyperMesh only, and the final result must be a .fem file ready for OptiStruct. No conversions from ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran will be accepted.
What needs to be done:
Build a 2D shell model using PSHELL elements (12 mm thickness)
Mesh must have <1% tria elements and <15,000 total elements
Apply two load cases:
Surface load (person leaning back)
Point load (ground reaction)
Run simulation and provide:
Displacement and von Mises stress plots
Maximum values and locations
Safety factor calculation
Weight of the backrest
Do a simple hand calculation (deformation from Task 2, compared with your FE result)
Optimize the model: reduce weight by at least 20%
Show new stress/displacement results and safety factor
Determine:
Max load for 3 mm deformation
Max load where safety factor = 1
Deliverables:
.fem files for each simulation
Clear screenshots (plots and max values)
A bullet-point summary of what was done and what changed
Keep the explanation short and clear — no lengthy text is needed
Important:
This work must be done in HyperMesh and HyperView, using OptiStruct
If there’s anything you can’t do or don’t understand, let me know before starting
Only experienced freelancers will be considered — please tell me if you’ve done similar projects before
Needed until 25.06.25
