I am seeking an experienced mechanical or FEA engineer to perform a static structural finite element analysis (FEA) on a plastic lid component made from Polycarbonate (PC-110). The goal of the analysis is to estimate the force required to cause yielding or failure when a load is applied at the center of the lid panel. A STEP file of the part and a detailed instruction PDF are attached here. The simulation should apply a load perpendicular to the lid surface over a 1-inch diameter circular area at the center, while the perimeter of the lid is constrained as shown in the attached instructions. The analysis should gradually increase the load until material yield occurs (Von Mises stress ≥ 9,000 psi). Deliverables should include a short simulation report (PDF), stress plots, deformation plots, maximum deflection at the center, and the estimated load at yield/failure in pounds. Clear documentation of assumptions and boundary conditions is required.
