Build Complete Bridge Simulation in ABAQUS with Modular Expansion Joints and Vehicle Load
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am a Master's student working on a thesis related to civil/structural engineering, and I need a qualified expert to build a complete simulation model in ABAQUS based on the following topic:
"Investigating the Influence of Control Spring Degradation in Modular Expansion Joints (MEJs) on the Dynamic Response of Bridges."

Scope of Work:
The simulation must include:
1. Bridge Model
o Single-span or multi-span bridge
o Concrete deck with realistic dimensions and material properties
o Boundary conditions (e.g., simply supported)
2. Modular Expansion Joints (MEJs)
o Include center beams and support bars
o Model control springs (using spring or connector elements)
o Integrate a degradation model: time-varying stiffness or fatigue-based deterioration
3. Vehicle Load Modeling
o Use either a mass-spring-damper system or moving load approach
o Define vehicle dynamics and apply load across the bridge
o Vehicle speed, mass, axle distance (typical parameters from literature)
4. Simulation Type
o Dynamic analysis (preferably ABAQUS/Standard or ABAQUS/Explicit)
o Include degradation effect over time for comparison
5. Deliverables
o All ABAQUS files: .cae, .inp, and supporting materials
o Screenshots of model and result outputs
o Summary PDF: overview of simulation setup, parameters used, and brief explanation of how degradation is modeled
o Bonus (if possible): A simple video/gif walkthrough or visualization of simulation
