Feasibility Study: Medical College
Budget: $70 – $100 USD
I am setting up a full-fledged medical and dental college in Pakistan that will be anchored by a teaching hospital. Before moving to fundraising and regulatory approvals, I need a comprehensive feasibility study that captures every commercial, academic, clinical, and operational angle.
Scope of the study
The college will host three undergraduate programs—UG MBBS, BDS, and Nursing—supported by a teaching hospital with more than 200 beds. Please establish how this mix influences capacity planning, faculty requirements, clinical rotation schedules, and licensing benchmarks issued by the PMC and relevant nursing councils.
Key elements to cover
• Project overview: location assessment, land requirements, space program for classrooms, labs, hostels, and the hospital.
• Vision, mission, and measurable objectives that align with national healthcare goals.
• Detailed project components for each program (seat count, curriculum framework, simulation labs, accreditation timelines) and the >200-bed hospital (service lines, equipment, staffing ratios).
• Capital outlay broken into construction, equipment, ICT, and working capital; identify funding required and propose a financing structure (equity, debt, PPP, endowments).
• Financial model in Excel with IRR, NPV, payback period, and breakeven year scenarios.
• Sensitivity analysis on tuition fees, occupancy rates, and capex overruns.
• Summary of strategic partners: Clinical and Academic institutions—map potential local and international affiliations and outline partnership terms.
Deliverables
1. Narrative report (Word/PDF) summarizing findings and recommendations.
2. Dynamic financial model with editable assumptions.
Acceptance criteria
• All figures source-referenced and denominated in PKR
• Model stress-tested under best, base, and worst cases.
• Recommendations actionable within Pakistani regulatory context.
If you have prior experience with healthcare education projects, hospital planning, or large-scale financial modeling in the region, your insight will be invaluable. I look forward to your proposal detailing methodology, timeline, and similar work completed.
