Xero Historical Data Entry
Budget: $8 – $15 AUD
Iwant tomy bookkeeping onto Xero and need an expert who can both advise and action the back-entry of historic data. All business and banking transactions for the past twelve months must be loaded so my accounts and reports reflect reality from day one.
Here is the current situation:
• Data scope: business sales, purchases, and all movements through the business bank account—no cash-only expense receipts involved.
• Source material: PDF bank statements plus copies of issued and received invoices.
• Period covered: less than a full financial year, roughly twelve months back from today.
What I need from you:
1. Confirm the cleanest workflow for bringing historic transactions into Xero without breaking reconciliation or reporting—whether that means using the import templates, CSV conversions, the Xero conversion toolbox, or another proven method.
2. Prepare the data from my statements and invoices so it maps correctly to Xero’s chart of accounts.
3. Import and post the transactions, then run the necessary reconciliations so the dashboard balances match my actual bank balance to the cent.
4. Produce a brief hand-over note outlining the steps taken, any shortcuts or rules you created, and how I should continue day-to-day processing from here.
Acceptance criteria:
• Opening balances match today’s real-world figures.
• All historic transactions appear on the correct dates, coded to the right accounts, and fully reconciled.
• Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports run in Xero with no missing or duplicated items.
If you’re a certified Xero advisor who has done similar back-dated migrations, I’d like to get started as soon as possible.
