Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to refine and optimize our inventory cost processes in Vancouver, B.C.!

Quick Role Overview
The Senior Cost Accountant will play a critical role in evaluating inventory costs and ensuring financial accuracy. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for developing precise cost calculations and templates for audit and business planning purposes. You will work closely with the production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure inventory accuracy and support the company’s financial reporting goals.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Conduct inventory evaluations at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.
• Maintain accurate records of supply inventory and ensure correct valuation.
• Collaborate with production, shipping, and receiving teams to streamline cost tracking.
• Perform frequent inventory counts to verify accuracy.
• Assist IT and company leadership in completing the inventory module in the ERP system.
• Provide financial reporting and cost analysis, primarily focused on inventory valuation.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
• 2+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or seafood industry.
• CPA, CMA, or CGA designation, or actively working toward CPA certification.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to manage and analyze large datasets.
• Understanding of IT systems and data flows related to cost tracking.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across departments.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Experience in seafood processing, manufacturing, or fish plant operations.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software.
• A hands-on, team-oriented approach with a proactive mindset.
